Musicmachine
Version: 1.1-A001 | Published by Attaky
Musicmachine
A pocket groovebox for your Attaky — make beats, play samples and record sounds, all on one device.
Musicmachine turns Attaky Core into a small music studio. Sketch a beat on the step sequencer, play your own sounds across the keys, record new ones with the microphone and keep everything on the SD card.
Highlights
- Synth and sequencer: Two melody tracks, an 8-pad drum track and a phrase track on a 16-step grid, with four waveforms and six drum kits.
- Expressive steps: Accent, slide, probability and chords per step, swing, per-track effects, and live effects such as bitcrush, tape stop, arpeggio, echo and reverb.
- Sampler: Play any 16-bit WAV from the SD card across about two and a half octaves, then trim, normalize, reverse or add lo-fi and drive and save the result as a new sample.
- Recorder: Record up to 20 seconds from the microphone straight to the SD card and play it back.
- Songs and library: 16 song slots on the SD card, and a library to play, rename and delete every sample and recording.
- Status at a glance: An RGB light shows recording and playback, and the home screen shows the battery level when a battery module is fitted.
Controls
With the keyboard module you get full control; press # and W for the on-screen key guide. Without it, the Core keys run the menus: SELECT confirms, L1 returns home and R1 starts or stops recording and previews. In the sequencer, left and right move the step cursor and up and down change the tempo. You can also tap the screen: the home cards open each module and the bar at the bottom goes back.
Compatibility
Musicmachine runs on Attaky Core with the Media-IO module, which provides the speaker, the microphone and the SD card slot. Use a FAT32 SD card; the extra drum kits load from a drums folder and your samples and recordings live in a samples folder, while the built-in synth works with any card. Add the keyboard module for the full set of controls and the battery module to see the battery level.
