TamaFi
A Wi-Fi-fed virtual pet for your Attaky — hatch it, watch it grow, and keep it happy with the networks around you.
TamaFi turns Attaky Core into a pocket virtual pet. Hatch a pixel-art creature from an egg and let it live on the screen: it forages, explores and rests on its own, and it lives off the Wi-Fi around it. The device scans for nearby networks without joining any of them, and what it finds shapes your pet's day.
Highlights
- Lives off Wi-Fi: Nearby networks give your pet things to hunt and discover; with no networks around, it gets sad.
- A pet with a life of its own: It forages, explores and naps by itself, and grows from baby through teen and adult to elder.
- Hunger, happiness and health: Clear status bars, a mood, and a personality page show how your pet is doing.
- Shake to play: Give the device a shake while your pet is idle at home to play with it.
- Retro sound and light: Square-wave sound effects with four volume levels, and an RGB light that reacts to what your pet is doing.
- Always remembered: Your pet, its age and stats, and your volume, brightness and light settings are saved automatically (every 30 seconds by default).
Controls
SELECT hatches the egg, opens the menu and confirms. Up and down move through the menu. LEFT goes back or returns home, and RIGHT jumps from home straight to the pet's status. L1 cycles the volume (off, low, mid, high) and R1 turns the light effects on or off. The menu also has pages for the Wi-Fi environment, controls, settings, system info and diagnostics.
Compatibility
TamaFi runs on Attaky Core. Add the Media-IO module with an SD card inserted for sound (the card lets the firmware detect the module at start-up), and the battery module to see the battery level in the title bar. Wi-Fi is used only to scan for nearby networks; it never joins a network or uploads any data.
